Welcome to our August edition of the Warwick Pottery Newsletter! As the summer comes to an end, we are embracing the cool winds of fall and eagerly anticipating our annual show and sale! In this month's newsletter, we're discussing studio cleanliness, guidelines for our upcoming show, a callout for volunteers, and a reminder of our upcoming show. Keeping Our Community Clean

The philosophy of leaving spaces cleaner than you found them is rooted in the belief that every small act of care contributes to a larger, more harmonious community. When we take the time to clean up after ourselves and even go a step further, we create a space that others can enjoy and feel comfortable in. In a community pottery studio, this philosophy is especially significant. By ensuring that our workstations are clean and tidy, we not only make it easier for the next potter to begin their work but also show our appreciation for the collective effort that goes into maintaining the studio. Embracing this principle can deepen our connection to the space, ensuring that the studio remains a vibrant place for everyone to enjoy! Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment is not just about cleanliness; it's a reflection of respect and consideration for others. Check our Cleaning Essentials Checklist below!

1. Wipe down the wheel head and surface

2. Ensure all newspaper and paper towel is disposed of

3. Wipe the surrounding floor of your wheel clean

4. Ensure wheel legs are free of any splashed clay

5. Thoroughly rinse off any tools used and put them away

6. Ensure all forms and large tools are properly housed

7. Clean off communal use tables

8. Remove any clutter off the slab roller

9. Ensure plastic coverings are neatly stored in the supply closet

10. Rinse and put away any containers used
    

ATTENTION WARWICK POTTERS: Introducing The Lost Pots Shelf & Limitations on External Firing

The Lost Pots Shelf: Our new shelf in the kiln room is called THE LOST POTS SHELF! These pots have no names or have been hanging out at the studio for way TOO long! If these pots are not claimed by 9/1, they will be discarded. Please claim your work! External Firing: Starting immediately, we will no longer be firing pottery for individuals who are not currently registered students of Warwick Pottery. This change allows us to prioritize resources for our active students and ensure they have the support needed to flourish in their creative journey. We appreciate your understanding and encourage non-students to explore our class offerings to fully benefit from all the studio has to offer!
