The Clay Catcher
You may have noticed it... Our new bucket in the sink, but what is it for?
When we clean up from class, we want to avoid putting any clay down the sink directly. Clay is the enemy of our plumbing and could quickly create problems for the community center!
How can we keep our plumbing safe from clay? Well, Rachel had the perfect idea!
The bucket in the sink has a strainer as the very top layer (as photographed) to catch clay chunks and slip. When you are cleaning up after class, follow the quick instructions below to maximize the use of this new tool.
Grab a collapsible grey bucket from under the bats in the sink closet and fill it with water
Use your water bucket to completely wipe down your workspace and tools.
When you return to the sink, pour your dirty water into the strainer. Water that is in the bucket already will run over, and that’s okay! The strainer will catch large clay chunks and slip, with finer clay particles settling at the bottom of the bucket. Please scoop out your clay and throw it out; we don’t want a mold issue!

Student Shout Out - Craig and Lynn
We are so grateful to Craig who has been making so many improvements to our studio! Craig’s latest work was improving the shelf space in our drying room. Thank you, Craig!

No Open Studio Time on the Last Sunday of Each Month
Please note that starting in May, there will be no open studio time on the last Sunday of each month. There is a notice posted on the Open Studio page on our website. Please keep track of the calendar! Our Open Studio Sign-up Page has been updated to reflect the change. Thank you for your understanding!
